PARAPLEGIC REHABILITATION CENTRE MOHALI
▣ Paraplegic Home (North) was established at Mohali in 1978.
Commissioned on 30 Nov 1978 by Gen OP Malhotra, PVSM, the then Chief of
the Army Staff. Land was gifted by Punjab Govt
▣ Started with accommodation for 34 (24 single & 10
Married) residents and subsequently was increased to 46 (24 Single &
22 Married)
▣ Common facilities like Dining Hall, Cook House, Physiotherapy
Hall etc exist. Accommodation is designed for a capacity of 100
Residents
▣ The Centre has a state of art facility for providing
vocational training to the residents and the products are put up for
sale
▣ Regular visits by Homeopathic doctor are organised
▣ Yoga and meditation session helps in de-stressing the residents
▣ PRC Mohali has over the years taken active part in sports and
won 96 Gold, 93 Silver, 64 Bronze medals in National level and 02 Gold,
05 Silver, 04 Bronze medals in International level
